Business Point 2025: High school students showed creativity and strategic thinking
The Business Point competition was once again held at the Faculty of Business and Management of Brno University of Technology, offering high school students a unique opportunity to showcase their skills, creativity, and ability to work under time pressure. This year's edition, focused on clothing, was dominated by a team from Jan Kepler Gymnasium in Prague.
Business Point 2025. | Autor: Petr Zábojník Business Point is a management and marketing competition organized by the Faculty of Business and Management of Brno University of Technology, which brings applicants closer to studying business. Members of the winning teams can apply for an exemption from the entrance exam to this faculty, ensuring a smooth start to their university life.
The competition is divided into two rounds. The topic of the first round in the marketing and management section was focused on "Marketing activities related to clothing sales in the Czech Republic." Clothing thus became the common theme for all participants, thanks to this year’s partner, Horsefeathers—a Czech brand specializing in the production and sale of clothing and accessories for an active lifestyle, particularly in snowboarding and streetwear.
A large number of teams from different parts of the country signed up for the first round, which delighted the competition organizers. The participants were tasked with conducting a market research on clothing in the Czech Republic, analyzing brand popularity, price levels, sales channels, and customer decision-making processes.
Based on their work, the top 10 teams were selected to participate in the final round at the Faculty of Business and Management. In the final, the contestants had only a few hours to develop proposals for the assignment "Analysis and strategy for the Czech brand Horsefeathers." Their work was slightly more challenging due to the inability to use various online tools. However, they had the opportunity to consult company representatives, who personally answered their additional questions throughout the day.

They also delivered excellent performances during Saturday’s presentations, which included practical demonstrations of products," stated the competition organizers from the Faculty of Business and Management.
Tomáš Koudela, Head of Marketing at Horsefeathers, also commented on the competition: "As a partner company, we were thrilled with the approach and energy with which the participants tackled the assignment. They were not afraid to ask the right questions, effectively connected the gathered information, and their presentations were not only well-structured but, in many cases, also highly creative. This collaboration gave us valuable insight into the mindset of the younger generation of high school students. It was inspiring to see how they could analytically reflect on the topic and find innovative solutions. At the same time, we gained interesting ideas for our product categories and corporate communication. We perceive the Faculty of Business and Management of Brno University of Technology as a great partner and look forward to further joint projects."
The expert panel, composed of faculty members, business professionals, and representatives from Horsefeathers, ultimately selected the winning teams:
1st place: Keplerovy hvězdy (Jan Kepler Gymnasium, Prague)
2nd place: Aristokrati (Secondary Vocational School and Vocational Training Center, Kuřim)
