Workshop: Electronic Lab Notebooks

We invite you for a workshop on the current topic Electronic Lab Notebooks and their practical demonstration.

The workshop will take place on November 16, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the BUT Central Library in room E219 (Kolejní 4) and will be held in English.

Lecturer: Marek Cebecauer from J. Heyrovskeho Institut of Physics and group leader of WG Materials Sciences and Engineering EOSC.CZ

Content of the workshop:

  • A brief introduction to the Open Science and FAIR data principles
  • Basic information about the legislation in the Czech Republic
  • Practical excursion into the Pilot CESNET data repository - manual data publishing approach
  • Introduction to Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELNs) and data management automatisation
  • Comparison of five ELNs tested for the National Repository Platform
  • Practical example - Kadi4Mat - a simple ELN for a daily work in the laboratory: a dataset registration use-case
