BUT is now cooperating with the Israel Institute of Technology

BUT students and employees, specifically from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies and the Faculty of Information Technologies, can now use student and employee exchange stays in the field of cyber and information security in cooperation with the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, or its Computer Science Department. Israel Institute of Technology is a university with about 13 000 students and, according to the QS Universities 2020 ranking, it is ranked 179th in the world in the Engineering and Technology category. Among its employees are several Nobel Prize winners. Israel is then a world leader in the research and development of technologies ensuring cybersecurity, at the same time it is very active in the development of tools for its teaching, especially the so-called cyber arenas, which are also being built at FEEC BUT.

The agreement was signed by the representatives of both universities in January this year, based on a visit by a Czech delegation to Israel with significant input from the Czech Embassy in Israel. The contact person for exchange stays is Jan Hajný from the Institute of Telecommunications, FEEC. The first foreign exchanges, which will be financed by the Erasmus+ program in the period 2020-2023, will be possible after the relaxation of the current measures.
