Recognizing its societal impact, BUT experts actively contribute to addressing environmental challenges, including climate change and environmental protection.

The European Sustainable Development Week offers the general public an opportunity to engage in addressing these challenges together with university experts. What can participants look forward to?

BUT Panel Exhibition (16–30 September)

This year, Brno University of Technology celebrates its 125th anniversary. To mark this significant milestone, the university has prepared a panel exhibition that highlights its strategic areas, scientific achievements, and future technologies. The exhibition is already on display at Moravské náměstí near the statue of Jošt (16–23 September) and will later be moved to Mendlovo náměstí in Brno (23–30 September).

Sports Week at BUT (16–22 September)

Under the motto "Technology cheers movement!", the Centre for Sports Activities is hosting a Sports Week for all students and staff. A wide range of sports and activities will be available, with a complete list accessible here.

Researchers’ Night at BUT (27 September)

Discover the theme of transformation in science and nature at the Researchers’ Night. Come and explore the process of transformation together with experts from VUT. The event will feature guided tours, popular science lectures, workshops, experiments, science shows, and musical performances. Research facilities and science centers will also be open to the public. The program is suitable for families with children, school groups, students, and the general public.

Exhibition: "From Gears to Infinity: The Astonishing World" (7 October–4 November)

This original exhibition, "From Gears to Infinity: An Astonishing World," presents the work and research of students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The public can view the exhibit at Moravské náměstí during the autumn.

The European Sustainable Development Week is a continent-wide festival that showcases the commitment of people, institutions, and organizations to the future of the planet. Last year, over 5,000 events were held across Europe during this annual celebration at the end of September.
