The deadline for applications to the BUT is approaching. | Autor: Václav Koníček Brno University of Technology offers modern education that adapts to current societal demands and industrial trends. That’s why the university regularly introduces new study programs, such as this year’s bachelor's programs in Visual Communication in Creative Industries, Environmental Engineering, Chip Design and Modern Semiconductor Technologies, or E-Mobility and Sustainability. Applicants can choose from a wide range of study programs in technical, scientific, economic, and artistic fields and study what truly excites them.
University life at BUT isn’t just about sitting in lecture halls. Students have the opportunity to join various student organizations, clubs, or university teams and develop their skills. They can choose from student unions, international student organizations, or teams focused on technology directly at BUT. “Thanks to the student club BEST Brno, I had the chance to lead a team in organizing an academic course and contribute to the education of international students. I made lots of friends across the university and enriched my studies,” said Kateřina Vamberská, a student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at BUT, who served as Vice President for Marketing in the international student organization BEST Brno in 2022-2023.

Students don’t just spend their class time in lectures. In selected subjects, they also visit laboratories or studios, where they have access to state-of-the-art technology. They can also gain real-world experience through internships, which connect their theoretical knowledge with practical skills and open doors to exciting job opportunities.
Thanks to the innovative approach of lecturers, studying at BUT is never boring. “I try to make my lectures feel less like just a lecture and more like a small theatrical performance,” said Jiří Jaroš, a professor who was awarded the Werner von Siemens Prize as the Best Lecturer of the Year 2024. Another frequently awarded lecturer at BUT, Miloslav Druckmüller, bases his teaching on dialogue with students and engaging them in problem-solving.

And it’s no wonder—Brno thrives on gastronomy, culture, sports, and science, offering students not only entertainment but also many internships and job opportunities in their field.
