Brno hosts the second edition of the Rooted Everywhere symposium. The event will present the work of FFA students and graduates

Brno will once again become the centre of artistic events. The Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology (FFA), which has long supported mutual cooperation between students and graduates, is hosting the second edition of the Rooted Everywhere art symposium. The event will take place on 16-22 September at the Distillery and will offer workshops, discussions and a final opening.

The Rooted Everywhere symposium focuses on informal collaboration between people coming from the same educational institution and sharing their experiences. The event is organized by FFA in collaboration with the Rooted Everywhere Collective. "The curatorial concept of the symposium, whose participation was born from an open call, is a space for meeting, establishing cooperation, discussion, sharing, and also creating an environment open to all, in which one can present one's own and joint work," described the main vision of this year's symposium by members of the všuderajče collective.

Throughout the week, a series of workshops and artistic activities of individual author groups and a public accompanying programme will take place in the Distillery (Pekařská 78, Brno). Visitors can look forward to a workshop on photographic printing from domestic raw materials, a discussion on off-space and artist-run projects in the context of FFA student practice, or the FFA Artmarket. There will also be a music programme following the opening of the new academic year.

The culmination of the collaboration between the student and alumni groups will be an opening on Friday 20 September at 6pm, showcasing the artistic outputs of the participants produced during the week. "On Saturday, there will also be a guided tour of the exhibition, during which we will introduce guests to the works and the intention of the symposium," described the všuderajče collective, which currently consists of Lucia Bergamaschi, Natália Drevenáková, Magdalena Šimurdová and Hana Magdoňová.

The first edition of the symposium under the title Všude Rajče took place last year on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of Fine Arts and started an active collaboration between the collective and FFA, with a focus on graduates of the faculty.

The full programme of the symposium can be found here.
