Philosophic/Aesthetic Aspects of Intermedia Art

FaVU-1FIEA-ZAcad. year: 2013/2014

The course focuses on sociological, philosophical/aesthetical and poetic points of departure of art media. The intermedia and multimedia character of contemporary art is a result of natural integration of disciplines, media, and technologies in a process of meaningful articulation of singular phenomena in a pluralistic world. Synchronic multifocality, polyphreny, and interaction will be used as tools for reflection in the course. We will look at bordering art genres, problematic character and relativisation of genre taxonimies in contemporary art, and at the mutual relationship between art, science, and technology.
