THE IFE CERTIFICATION BODY ACTIVITIES
As an independent and unbiased third party, the Certification Body provides certificates verifying a reasonable confidence in the person under certification being qualified to carry out activities in the field for which they have been certified. Regular supervision over the certified persons exercised by the IFE CB will ensure that their professional level is maintained.
The requirements for issuing the certificates comply with the documents accepted by the European Union (EU) within the programme of conformity processes and procedures harmonization included in the Global Concept for Certification and Testing and in other documents related to the EU community law. Accreditation of the IFE Certification Body granted by the Czech Accreditation Institute (CAI) confirms that this body meets the general criteria that a certification body performing certification of persons must satisfy if it is to be recognized on the national or European level as qualified and responsible in applying the certification system. The IFE is trying to actively participate in the process of staff certification in a given area within the Czech Republic and the existing European structures and thus allow Czech persons to obtain valuable certification recognized in Europe through future CAI notification. The organization, management, and procedures necessary for the achievement of the above mentioned objectives are included in this Quality Manual (QM) and the related IFE CB documentation.
The Quality Manual is the basic internal controlling and organizational document of the IFE Certification Body. The manual applies to the Certification Body performance in the extent defined by the Accreditation Certificate granted by the Czech Accreditation Institute. The Quality Manual of the IFE Certification Body performing certification of persons meets the requirements of the ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17024 standard. Two more documents related to the Manual are the „Certification Scheme“ and „Information for Applicants“ including detailed information for certification applicants. This material is publicly available to certification applicants and other stakeholders.
The certification system of the IFE CB is an open system which is continuously modified and improved. Based on the generalization of findings acquired in practice, comments made by the CAI or by the cooperating bodies, certified persons, and certification applicants, the Quality Manual and the related certification schemes are regularly updated.
As the founder of the IFE CB, the BUT management undertake to enable the certification body to proceed strictly in accordance with the above mentioned documents and to create the conditions necessary for their work. Furthermore, they undertake to inform the CAI about all the facts that could have an impact on the accreditation criteria that had to be met by the CAI to be granted the accreditation certificate. The IFE CB management undertake to strictly follow the Quality Manual, not to restrict access to the CB services, to perform their activities in compliance with the established certification procedures in an impartial, non-discriminatory, and objective way. In order to meet these objectives, in addition to providing the sources and conditions necessary for the work of the CB, the focus is on improving the qualification and professional competence of the CB staff and on improving the methodology and the professional work needed for the certification process.
