Programme content design

• introduction of participants and lecturer
• introduction of the programme, motivation of participants
• mapping the current knowledge and skills of the participant group and specific situations from the participants' practice to link to these initial skills
• defining the purpose, objectives and topics of the presentation
• preparation of the presentation, guiding principles for success
• presentation graphics, guiding principles for effective information transfer and internal rules for graphics
• how to prepare the presentation area
• how to start and end the presentation
• movement in space, zones for movement and crossing
• body language, gestures, gaze, hands, movement, eye contact
• use of audiovisual technology for presentation
• how to keep the audience's attention throughout the presentation
• the most common mistakes and problems in presenting and how to avoid them
• analysis of examples from the lecturer's and participants' practice

Objectives of the programme

• be able to determine the purpose and objective of the presentation
• be able to choose the appropriate form, content and scope of the presentation in relation to the objectives, environment and audience
• know why and how to structure a presentation
• know how to prepare persuasive arguments
• know how to adapt the presentation to the type and needs of the audience
• improve the ability to process and analyse the information presented in order to convey information effectively and clearly to the audience
• learn how to prepare the graphic aspect of a given presentation
• practice presentation and communication skills, including non-verbal communication
• know how to prepare for audience questions and practice immediate responses to questions and other suggestions from the audience
