Original Abstract

ESBL Klebsiella pneumoniae is a gram-negative opportunistic pathogen and leading cause of hospital-associated infections in haematology patients. Commonly, K. pneumoniae colonize human mucosal surfaces and is part of the healthy human gastrointestinal microbiome. In our study, we used the general assumption that thecolonization strain is thecause of thesubsequent infection in most cases to set theSNV cutoff valuefor determining clonality in ESBL K. pneumoniae.
