The aim of these lectures is widening the theoretical basis of one of the most important artistic phenomena of the 20th century: Czech dimension of surrealism.

Czech surrealism, theory, contacts between Czech and French surrealists, chief personalities (Nezval, Teige, Biebel), chief visual artists (Toyen, Štyrský, Šíma, Tikal, Istler)

Student will acquire wider knowledge about the changes of surrealism's Czech and international context and its connection to the historical developments of art.
