Decision making theory

Theory and methods of decision making processes in investor, planning and production area and in the construction realization. Utilization of system means, information systems, operational research, logistic approaches and theory of controll. Manager information systems. Mathematical methods, computer modelling of phenomena and processes, analysis of simulation courses. Tools for identification and system decomposition processes, for identification and specification of material, information and financial flows, for generation of block and time diagrams for operational research methods. Theory of reliability.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

By mastering the objectives of the Decision Making Theory course the students will acquire the essential theoretical knowledge of decision making processes and operational research methods as well as their practical applications, continuing with information systems, operational research and logistic approaches. They will master fundamentals of applied mathematical methods and computer modelling.

Numeric solution of differential equations.

Course curriculum

1/ Introduction – system engineering – theory of systems – management theory and cybernetics – strategy and strategic management – theory of decision making processes.
2/ Identification and analysis – elements of management and decision making processes.
3/ Logistics and management – general principals – logistic decompositions – logistic material, information and financial flows, analysis and mutual relations.
4/ Operational research – principles – methods and strategy – procedures applied at solution.
5/ Methods of network analysis - theory of games.
6/ Theory and optimising methods – theory of minimum and maximum
7/ Information and strategy – data stores.
8/ Project management – structures and management schemes – life time cycle.
9/ Controll as the process of the original image processing (own feedbacks between controlled object and controlling subject) – theory of cybernetic models.
10/ Theory of decision making and decision making processes – relations between decision making and management – classification and modelling of decision-making tasks.
11/ Optimising of decision-making processes – principles of Business Intelligence.
12/ Business management and company sources - reengineering – ERP, CRM, SCM systems – analysis by junction diagram– production management and decision making processes.
13/ Decision making processes in production preparation – continuity of production process – operational planning – systems of the change - supply´s systems.
