The course is an introductory course of Czech language for foreigners. It is offered to international students who want to acquaint themselves with the basics of Czech language needed for elementary communication. Particular attention will be paid to the specifics of Czech pronunciation.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
A student who successfully passes the course can understand and use basic vocabulary, phrases and elementary sentences in common situations. Can use elementary grammar and is familiar with th e specific features of Czech pronunciation.

Students' work is systematically checked by the teacher. Course credit is conditioned by active attendance and participation in the seminars and by meeting specific requirements of the teacher. The course is concluded by an exam in the form of a written test. In addition, the teacher takes into consideration overall performance of students in the seminars.
