Rules of structural design and theoretical analysis, main structural details.
Securing TS against global loss of stability.
Spatial structures – laminated structures, spatial trusses, ribbed domes, vaults and shells.
Wood houses. Problems of fire resistance of TS.
Production and assembly of TS.
Protection and maintenance of TS.

Aims

The objective of the subject is to introduce students to the problems of this course and to practise acquired knowledge and skills.
Student will get under control the aims of matter in
teachings, focused especially to problems of design of timber elements and timber structures.

Basic types of strain of timber members and timber structural elements. 7. Problems of stability of members in compression and bending. 8. Connections of timber structures. 9. Plane solid girders, frames and arches. 10. Truss girders, frames, and arches. 11. Spatial structures – spatial trusses, ribbed domes, vaults, shells and folded grids. 12. Timber houses. 13. Production, assembling, protection and maintenance of timber structures, fire resistance.
