Inclusive Design Workshop

FA-IDE-WAcad. year: 2023/2024

A practical workshop focused on design for a specific nonprofit organization, helping families in need (Vesna association). The workshop will take place as part of the faculty-wide Vektor of Poverty project. The aim is to support the identity of the institution and help solve a specific architectural problem through the design and implementation of small site-specific objects. The term inclusive design refers to designing processes, products, or services accessible to the widest range of people (including those with health or social disadvantages). This theme is currently one of the priorities of the New European Bauhaus.

Students will become familiar with the socio-cultural environment of Vesna and its spaces. They will gain awareness of topics such as inclusive design, upcycling methods, pop-up strategies for temporary use, and subsequently, they will be able to practically apply this knowledge by designing and implementing a specific object. They will have access to the workshop and Vesna's textile hub.
