Chemistry and Technology of Consumer Industry.

Photochemical imaging systems (ligh-sensitive polymer layers, negative photoreists, positive photoresists, photopolymers, electrography, Photo-degradation and photo-stabilization of polymer materials. Imaging systems and technologies: photografic optics, black&white photography, colour photography, pre-press technology and proofing. An overview of printing technologies, objective printing quality evaluation, technology of print finishing processes. Colours and the main theories of the colour perception, light sources - CIE standard illumination, colour systems, colour measuring. Procedures of ICC profiles creation. Implementation of ICC profiles into work-flow. Chemical and semi-chemical methods of pulp production, paper production. Paper-processing machine. Evaluation of paper properties, final paper improvement.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will obtain the basic knowledge of photograhic and printing technologies, technology of paper production and colour managment system used in these areas.

1. Implementation of ICC profiles into work-flow. 13.Chemical and semi-chemical methods of pulp production, paper production. Paper-processing machine. Evaluation of paper properties, final paper improvement.

The aim of the course Chemistry and technology of consumer industry is to provide students with theories and basic technologies in consumer industry, such as pulp and paper production, photography, printing technologies and provide them an overview of these technologies.
