Atelier I - Multimedia - summer

FaVU-B1MU-LAcad. year: 2009/2010

The atelier course of multimedia is represented by the artistic specialisation, which for recording, processing, transmitting, storing and intermediating of visual and audio materials uses mainly the artist´s body, photography, video, computers, and especially digital, as well as analog electronic media. The studio´s curriculum includes artistic forms such as action or installation which focus directly on the creative act in the spatio-temporal situation, Such a creative act is an interdisciplinary expression as well as a presentation linked with both traditional and new techniques of theatrical, dancing, musical and literary origin. Other applied artistic forms are, of course, video and multimedia, which are directed from a film composition towards the creation of interactive environments. These media are used in the form of exact spatial solutions of installations as well as in the virtually-digital form of computer applications which can be "visited", influenced and changed by the viewer. Thus, the curriculum emphasises artistic expressional forms of multimedia presentation. Also the work within the environment of the internet offers wide opportunities for experimenting. The newest tools such as streaming or VRML give the user the possibility of becoming the part of an open creative space. They head for the shaping of a new artistic expression on the background of information technologies.
