Atelier IV - Graphic Design - summer

Students focus on the realization part of their BA exam. They search for the most suitable topics and for the way of its creation with respect to its future presentation. At the same time, they submit the project of their MA studies for approval.

Students should be prepared:
a/ to work profesionally at DTP work place
b/ to work on the cultural or advertising topic creatively and independently

Prerequisites

Ability to find and realise an appropriate atelier assignment for the BA exam project.

State BA exam.
Requirements: successfully defended semester exam project.

Course curriculum

Summer semester:
a/ layout of newspaper and journal
b/ assignment of bachelor work: graphic layout of book including illustrations
Competitions and exhibitions are parts of tuition - students of all years can participate.

Aims

Supporting the following abilities:
- independent thinking, creative and original approach to typography, to the concept of book and to all artefacts under the label "visual communication"
- using the knowledge of history and contemporary art (obtained in theoretic subjects) in the form of inspiration, instruction and continuity
- development of the ability of excellent figural, scientific and stylized drawing, along with the knowledge of basic drawing, painting and graphic techniques

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Lessons are mandatory.
