Diploma Proseminar - winter

FaVU-DPS-ZAcad. year: 2009/2010

Preparation for the elaboration of the theoretic part of diploma work.
During winter and summer semesters: study of topics which are connected with the prepared diploma work, presentation of these topics in seminars, discussions.
Students on study stays can participate, consultations via email.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Ability to search for and elaborate visual material and topic, closely related to the practical studio work.
Ability to discuss and reflect them.

Prerequisites

Bachelor degree of the FFA or comparable art school.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations..

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Credit. Presentation of a gradually developing textual and visual portfolio. (In the form of xerox copies, extracts, also on CD.) The protfolio should gather all suitable materials necessary for independent theoretic studies.

To familiarise with relevant topics - search for suitable materials in magazines, books, on the Internet.
To create a work portfolio.
Continuous consultations.

Aims

The objective of the course is to lead students to systematic study and presentation of the results of this study, to clarify wider contexts of their atelier work so that the theoretical work suitably supplements and defends the practical diploma work.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Seminars are mandatory. Common sessions and consultations on arranged dates.
