Course detail

Computer Aided Design

FSI-QS0Acad. year: 2009/2010

The course CAD offers necessary information to manage constructional projects by use of computer system CATIA, I-Deas and Unigraphics. The students learn how to compose the constructional documentation in an optimal way. They also realize that CAD is only a support of constructional process which speeds up the work and makes it more effective, but definitely cannot substitute creative designer’s work and required technical knowledge.

Aims

The course is intended as an introduction to CAD engineering. Students will have an overview of different graphics
hardware and software systems, and will practise in 3D CATIA, I-Deas or Unigraphics programs.
The aim of the subject is to introduce the facilities of graphical
systems for constructional process support. Students will be made familiar with
widely available graphical system with engineering tools in
application for technical documentation of machine parts. They will get
basic experience in 3D designing.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The course is optional. Successful completion of the course is conditional on an active participation in the workshops.
