Learning outcomes of the course unit

The knowledge of the influence of various kinds of inputs on the quality of production (outputs), of system relationship, interaction between individual inputs and various elements of the quality system, of economic effects of inputs during the process.

Prerequisites

General knowledge of materials and technology. Knowledge of quality management and company management. Statistical process control. Human resources management.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The course unit credit requirements: Participation in seminars. Students are required to write a final test and get at least 10 points (out of 20), obtain at least 40 points for a semester project (out of 80 An alternative assignment may be given to students if the condition is not met (in justified cases). Total evaluation consists of: 1. Final test result 2. Semester project. Evaluation: excellent (90-100 points), very good (80-89 points), good (70-79 points), satisfactory (60-69 points), sufficient (50-59 points), failed (0-49 points).

Aims

Students will be made familiar with relationships between the inputs and the quality of production. They will learn of operation requirements for the inputs and purchasing control processes as well as the fundamentals of logistic processes.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The attendance at seminars is compulsory. An alternative assignment may be given to students if the condition is not met (in justified cases)
