“Corporate Management” is an introductory course intended to provide basic knowledge of management, its methods, structure and methods. It is is focused on specification of individual trading companies. The course deals especially with the following topics: knowledge of the principle, goals and structuralization of management. Requirements laid on managers, his expected qualities and role. Structuralization of management according to the functions and elements. Detailed explanation of individual elements. Planning, organisation, stimulation and control. Decision-making process

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will have a clear idea of modern approaches to and application of management in terms of its individual parts: organisation, stimulation and control.

Prerequisites

Knowledge acquired in the cours Corporate Economics, functions of company, its economics and results.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Conditions of awarding the course-unit credit: 1. Active participation in exercises during presentations followed by discussion over seminar work 2. Successful completion of a credit test 3. Successful elaboration of semester work in preset deadline. Total number of points is 100; the minimal number of points necessary for awarding the course-unit credit is 70. Students have an opportunity to acquire points for: - individual semester work - team semester project - elaboration of tasks related to the studies - elaboration of partial tasks - control test Students will be penalised by negative points for: - late submission of an individual semester project (i.e. within 6th and 10th week of the semester) - late submission of a team project – after 5th week of the semester - late delivery of an individual respor. a team project (after 10th week of the semester) - late delivery of resit – supplementary individual project – term is set by the seminar teacher. If the student does not achieve sufficient number of points, he/she may use up to 3 following supplementary – resit means set in order to be awarded for the course-unit credit : - up to three supplementary – resit tests - supplementary – resit individual project - supplementary – resit team project. Note: these ways of resit can be accepted only if the student hasve already tried to achieve points at least in one individual semester project! Conditions for passing an exam: Knowledge of taught topics and their practical application. Form of examination: Oral – presentation of acquired knowledge and own opinions expressed in the seminar work, knowledge of taught topics, knowledge of textbooks and recommended literature. Three students are examined at the same time. The course-unit credit awarding is a necessary condition for passing an exam.

Control, controlling - meaning, ways, applications.

Aims

The main objective of the course is to provide students with knowledge of fundamentals of marketing, its terms, content, structuralization and methods.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Active participation in seminars regarding presented topics, participation in discussion, quality
Presentation of semester work on given topic, knowledge test.
