Students will acquire the basic terminology and language skills necessary for communication in various situations in business and management, especially regarding company organization , production process, trading, presentations and financial matters. They will be made familiar with terminology necessary for work in IT and with professional IT materials.

The assessment consists of a written test and final exam. 75% attendance and active participation at classes is required.

6.Functions: giving opinions, agreeing and disagreeing, participating in a meeting or discussion. Pronunciation: sounding polite
7.Present and past trends: Present Continuous and Past Simple, adjectives and adverbs. Vocab: food file, word groups.
8.Reading: ethical consumerism. Functions: advice and suggestions.
9.Passives: Present Simple, Present Continuous, Past Simple, Present Perfect Simple, Will future. Vocab: leisure and fitness activities, word combinations
10.Functions: leaving recorded messages, using mobile phones. Pronunciation: stressing important information
11.Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect. Vocab: gerunds file, personal management
12.Functions: requests and offers, exchanging information. Pronunciation: contrastive stress.

Preparation for the compulsory course Professional English 2 (Odborná angličtina 2), development of all language skills, consolidation and deepening of knowledge of grammatical structures, and increase in vocabulary with special emphasis on language needed at work.
