Outlines of domestic and foreign art from the 1990s to present days. Explanation of key notions of contemporary art criticism. Analysis of formal procedures and topical connections of contemporary art. Reading of theoretic texts with respect to their application in practice. Overview of basic tendencies of contemporary art and criticism. Ability of a sophisticated discussion about art and about students´ own creation.Studens will acquire a deeper knowledge of current Czech art in connection to international context. The current international art scene will be also analyzed. Students will learn to understand the discursive and insittutional changes of Czech art in the last twenty years.Winter semestr:1. Czech art in the 90s - the generation of artistic personalities - Veronika Bromová, Jiří Černický, Kateřina Vincourová, Milena Dopitová, Jiří Příhoda, Federico Díaz and another.2. NeoExpression art, neopop, sound art, installation art, new media and net art in foreign art.3. Women in Czech photography from 90s to contemporary art - Veronika Bromová, Milena Dopitová, Dita Pepe, Alena Kotzmanová, Tereza Vlčková, Kateřina Držková, Štěpánka Stein, Sylva Francová and another.4. Videoart - Michal Pěchouček, Zbyněk Baladrán, Milan Salák, Mark Thér, Ondřej Brody and another.5 Culture of new media - Michal Bielický, Magdaléna Jetelová, Štěpánka Šimlová, Vasulkovi, Tamara Moyzes and another.6. Public art - Vasil Artamonov, Jiří Kovanda, Lukáš Rittstein, Martin Zet, David Černý, The Ládví group and another.7. Contemporary artist younger generation, phenomenon of do it yourselfs and play, neoKonceptual art of beginning of 21th Century - Pavla Sceranková, Eva Koťátková, Dominik Lang, Magdalena Kwiatkowska, Jan Nálevka and another.8. Social intervention - group Pode Bal, Rafani, Ztohoven and Ondřej Brody, Kateřina Šedá.9. Political art - group Guma Guar, Rafani and Pode Bal.10. The influence of subcultures on artist younger generation - Jakub Hošek and Anežka Hošková, Laďa Gažiová and another.11. Street art - Point, Masker, Pasta, pash*, Bior and another, names fest 2008, The confrontation Czech street art to foreign.12. Organic architecture - Jan Kaplický and Future systems.
