Learning outcomes of the course unit

Knowledge of basic sociological principles, schools and paradigmata. Circumstances of sociology and technics. Using of sociology in technical and engineering praxis in firm and personal life.

Prerequisites

Basic sociological terminology in secondary school level known from subjects "Foundantion of social sciences" or "Civics", knowledges from Basic of Law (1st year in Faculty of Civil Engineering), survey about statistic methods from mathematics used in sociology.

Course curriculum

1. Subject of sociology, subjects and tasks of sociology, social structure of society.
2. Macrosociology, social development. Social psychology. Society, group, team.
3. Microsociology. Structure of organization, office, firm. Direction and controle.
4. Sociological theories and paradigmata. Theory of conflict and concensus in society and organization.
5. Sociological methods a technics of research. Observing, questionnaire, anamnesis, analysis of spontaneous products, testing methods.
6. Attitudes and relations in groups and their recognizing. Structure of organization. Styles of direction. Planning and organizing.
7. Social perception. Active and passive adaptation´s technics. Professiogram. Analysis of work activity. Motivation in work and direction. Hierarchy of demands. Motivation factors.
8. Verbal and nonverbal communication. Communication skilfulness. Presentation. Brainstorming. Direct meeting. Discussion.
9. The principles of sociological view to update world and role of personality in it.
10. The rituals in sociology and in everyday life. The theory of role.
Characteristics of work environment. Factors of work environment.
11. Social groups and their system. Culture, ethics and identity. Social deviation.
12. Motivation and stimulation of workers. Using of sociology in people directing. Sociology of work, marketing and direction. Carrier.
13. Solution of conflict and stress situations. Sociology of leisure time. Credit.

Aims

Orientation in problems of sociology of society and social groups. Analysis of social relations, processes in society and social development. Knowledge of social structure in whole society level and also in level of organization, firm, personality. Application of sociology to future job of absolvents in building firms and technical praxis.
