Course detail

Cooling of Buildings

FAST-BT55Acad. year: 2009/2010

The goal of this subject is to inform students with the issue of cooling for needs of air-condition and the basics of cooling for conservation of foods. Introduction is about principal terms of the thermodynamics and the theory of cooling cycles. Primary content of this subject are kinds of machines which are used in cooling, classification and the main parts of cooling systems. Refrigerants and heat-transfer fluids - properties and present requirements on them. Cooling machine rooms. Proper standards. Another theme is new and present trend in the cooling technologies and energy saving cooling methods, including absorption chillers.
