Learning outcomes of the course unit

Knowledge of general sociological principles and their application in technics and architecture, orientation in basic schools and paradigmates. Sociological knowledge about relation between living and environment, architectonic regeneration of environment, drvelopment programs and process of projection.

Prerequisites

Basic survey from general sociology, social psychology, economy, philosophy or ethics (in secondary school level from subjects "Foundation of social sciences" or "Civics", knowledge of elementary terminology from sociology, information about practical possibilities of sociology and about some methods of sociological research (observing, questionnaire etc.), knowledge of basic statistic methodology in working up of data, basic knowledge from ecology and environmentalistics from secondary school.

Course curriculum

1. Introdućtion to sociology. Subject and methodology of general and applicated sociology.
2. Society, social groups, sociometry.
3. Sociological terminology, schools, streams and paradigmates - summary, importance and hetitage.
4. Basic theory of sociological thinking. The theory of concensus and the theory of conflict and interpretative sociology.
5. Problem of orientation in world; social controle and problem of living in environment.
6. Classical a modern society in sociological concepts. Conservativism, rycionalism and liberalism.
7. Complementary access to interpretation of social phenomenons and subject behaviour in society.
8. Sociology in architecture and urbanism creation. Determinism of environment and society phenomenons.
9. Uniformity and variety. Social stratification and space. Family and living.
10. Sociological knowledge about living centres. Public and private spaces.
11. Town and country as a social units - agreements and differences. Influence to architecture.
12. Sociological research in architecture. Environmental civil engineering. Future living. Sociology of living and environment. Sociological and architectonical environment regeneration.
13. Users taking place in architecture process of projection - towns´ and countries´ development programs.

Aims

orientation in problems of sociology of society and social groups
Analysis of social relations, processes in society and global social development;
knowledge of social structure in whole society level and also in level of organization, firm, personality;
research relation between sociology and living, architecture and ecology;
application of sociology from teoretic to future job of absolvents in building firms, architecture workplaces and technical praxis.
