Issued topics of Doctoral Study Program
The aim of this topis is the development of identification methods for ac electrical drives parameters estimation. Temperature dependancy of motor parameters and nonlinear magnetization characteristics cause big changes from nominal parameters for which the controllers were designed and set up. This brings together deterioration of control performance. The goal of this project is the research and design of identification methods, their testing in simulation in the environment of Matlab Simulink and their implementation and verification on a real hardware with ac induction motors and with permanent magnet synchronous motors.
Tutor: Blaha Petr, doc. Ing., Ph.D.
The topic deals with design of the acoustic emission sensor.
Tutor: Beneš Petr, doc. Ing., Ph.D.
Application of infinitely differentiable functions (with finite and compact suppost) as membership functions in neuro-fuzzy systems. Comparison results of adaptation with standard membership functions.
Tutor: Jura Pavel, prof. Ing., CSc.
The topic of this project is focused on nonlinearity compensation encountered in the scheme of electrical drives control. Unfavorable effect is the voltage drop on semiconductor devices, necessity to insert time delay between switching complementary transistors and effect of other nonlinearities. The result of this project should be design of algorithms for nonlinearity compensation, their testing in simulation and implementation and verification on real hardware.
Continuous identifications of systems in con line control systems
Tutor: Pivoňka Petr, prof. Ing., CSc.
The goal of the project is to classify types of wheeled mobile robots and to design effective structures and methods of control for each class.
Tutor: Šolc František, prof. Ing., CSc.
Procedures and algorithms designed to analyze the measured data.
It is to design a methodology of dynamic filtration of moving object position failure. The position is done by GPS and INS: Specify: - position failure as a function of time - statistical method used - modeling tool for the failure Design a dynamic filter to minimize the position failure on the basis of quadratic criteria with specific constraints (steering angel, engine power).
Tutor: Zezulka František, prof. Ing., CSc.

The topis is aimed to the development of energy optimal control algorithms for AC electrical drives (induction machine, PMSM drives). The work will consist both of theoretical research as well as applied research aimed mostly to the hybrid engines for ecological transport devices. The topic will be solved in a co-operation with an industrial partner.
Tutor: Václavek Pavel, prof. Ing., Ph.D.
Expert systems are advanced technoligacal base for decision-making support. The aim of this work is partly research focused on the development of abstract symbolic knowledge modelling and partly on the usage of artificial intelligence methods for its processing. The outcome of this work will be the expert system for building and maintaining a shared company knowledge in the area of production processes.
Tutor: Jirsík Václav, doc. Ing., CSc.
The goal of the project id to design effective data fusion from different heterogenous sensors (ultra sonics, laser, GPS, etc.) to enable orientation of a mobile robot in unknown environment
The topic deals with design of the inertial sensors calibration.
The task is design and creation of modules for obtaining and processing image data for 3D reconstruction. The first part of solution is automatization of input data retrieval and processing. The next goal is solution of equations for resulting 3D data. Input data are classified and sorted for computation by designed criterion.
Tutor: Janáková Ilona, Ing., Ph.D.
Carry out a study o localisation methods of a moving object by a drop - out of the GPS signal. Specify different cases of the drop-out in different applications. Take in account information from another information sources (IRS system and others). Study an influence of the GPS signal drop-out on the stability of the controlled moving object by different boundary conditions ( wheel angel, speed, others). Design an optimization methodology for correction of the position failure after the GPS signal new jump in.
The topic will deal with a new methods of AC drives control. AC induction and PMSM machines will be in the research focus. New control and state estimation algorithms base on sliding-mode approach will be developped. The topic will be solved in co-operation with an industrial partner, and it will have both theoretical and practical realization parts.
Modelling of time transfer parameters of the communication networks and analysis of their influence on performance of feed-back cotrnol systems. Analysis of the communication subsystem's stochastic parameters for evaluation of control quality and compensation of the time-domain disturbances. Assurance of stability in the networked control systems.
Tutor: Bradáč Zdeněk, doc. Ing., Ph.D.
Utilization of the ontologies for interoperability assurance in the heterogeneous communication systems aiming to assure high dependability of process data exchange, diagnostics and process data fusion. Design of generic ontological structures for exchange of the process data with inclusion of diagnostic data and reliability parameters.
The aim of the task is application of orthogonal systems functions (namely Laguerre) at the dynamic systems identification.
Selfgenerating sensors and micropower electronics for power harvesting application.
The topic deals with design of the predictive algorithms for electrical drives control. It will be aimed especially to AC induction and PMSM machines control. During the theoretical part of the work the strategies of the computation power minimization will be defined. The developed algorithms will be then implemented on the microprocessor control system and proved in testing on real electro-mechanical systems.
Design, implementation and experiment with adaptive and adaptive optimal control systems.
Academic dissertation deals with research and development of robust methods for segmentation and pattern recognition in non-industrial complex scenes. Tree-tops recognition from aerial images, human outlines detection for person identification, traffic assistant and others systems can be considered as examples of target implementation. Work has to include study of existing image recognition methods as standard computer vision and image processing methods, statistical and structural recognition and if need be machine learning methods too. Design, real-time implementation and robust statistical analysis of suggested method for segmentation and recognition of texture objects should be fundamental point of thesis. Thesis solution has to be integrated to Group of Computer Vision domain. This prerequisite enables participation on accessible research projects.
