The graduate of the subject field obtains broad knowledge of subject of cybernetics control and/or measuremet. The knowledge is build mainly on theoretical background of the subject. Moreover the graduate will obtain deep special knowledge aimed in direction of his/her thesis. The graduate will be able to perform scientific and/or applied research based on up to date theoretical knowledge. The graduate will be able to organize and lead a team of researchers in the studied subject.

  1. AC Electrical Drives Parameters Identification

    The aim of this topis is the development of identification methods for ac electrical drives parameters estimation. Temperature dependancy of motor parameters and nonlinear magnetization characteristics cause big changes from nominal parameters for which the controllers were designed and set up. This brings together deterioration of control performance. The goal of this project is the research and design of identification methods, their testing in simulation in the environment of Matlab Simulink and their implementation and verification on a real hardware with ac induction motors and with permanent magnet synchronous motors.

  3. Adaptation in neural- fuzzy systems

    Application of infinitely differentiable functions (with finite and compact suppost) as membership functions in neuro-fuzzy systems. Comparison results of adaptation with standard membership functions.

  4. Compensation of nonlinearities in control scheme of electrical drives

    The topic of this project is focused on nonlinearity compensation encountered in the scheme of electrical drives control. Unfavorable effect is the voltage drop on semiconductor devices, necessity to insert time delay between switching complementary transistors and effect of other nonlinearities. The result of this project should be design of algorithms for nonlinearity compensation, their testing in simulation and implementation and verification on real hardware.

  8. Dynamic filtration of the moving object pos

    It is to design a methodology of dynamic filtration of moving object position failure. The position is done by GPS and INS: Specify: - position failure as a function of time - statistical method used - modeling tool for the failure Design a dynamic filter to minimize the position failure on the basis of quadratic criteria with specific constraints (steering angel, engine power).

  10. Energy optimal control of AC drives

    The topis is aimed to the development of energy optimal control algorithms for AC electrical drives (induction machine, PMSM drives). The work will consist both of theoretical research as well as applied research aimed mostly to the hybrid engines for ecological transport devices. The topic will be solved in a co-operation with an industrial partner.

  11. Expert systems

    Expert systems are advanced technoligacal base for decision-making support. The aim of this work is partly research focused on the development of abstract symbolic knowledge modelling and partly on the usage of artificial intelligence methods for its processing. The outcome of this work will be the expert system for building and maintaining a shared company knowledge in the area of production processes.

    The goal of the project id to design effective data fusion from different heterogenous sensors (ultra sonics, laser, GPS, etc.) to enable orientation of a mobile robot in unknown environment

    The topic deals with design of the inertial sensors calibration.

  15. Inteligent 3D reconstruction engine

    The task is design and creation of modules for obtaining and processing image data for 3D reconstruction. The first part of solution is automatization of input data retrieval and processing. The next goal is solution of equations for resulting 3D data. Input data are classified and sorted for computation by designed criterion.

  16. Localization of the mooving object by a drop-out of the GPS signal

    Carry out a study o localisation methods of a moving object by a drop - out of the GPS signal. Specify different cases of the drop-out in different applications. Take in account information from another information sources (IRS system and others). Study an influence of the GPS signal drop-out on the stability of the controlled moving object by different boundary conditions ( wheel angel, speed, others). Design an optimization methodology for correction of the position failure after the GPS signal new jump in.

  17. Modern Methodts of AC Electrical Drives Contorl

    The topic will deal with a new methods of AC drives control. AC induction and PMSM machines will be in the research focus. New control and state estimation algorithms base on sliding-mode approach will be developped. The topic will be solved in co-operation with an industrial partner, and it will have both theoretical and practical realization parts.

  18. Networked Control Systems

    Modelling of time transfer parameters of the communication networks and analysis of their influence on performance of feed-back cotrnol systems. Analysis of the communication subsystem's stochastic parameters for evaluation of control quality and compensation of the time-domain disturbances. Assurance of stability in the networked control systems.

  19. Ontologies for Interoperability and Process Data Fusion

    Utilization of the ontologies for interoperability assurance in the heterogeneous communication systems aiming to assure high dependability of process data exchange, diagnostics and process data fusion. Design of generic ontological structures for exchange of the process data with inclusion of diagnostic data and reliability parameters.

  20. Orthogonal systems functions and its application at dynamic systems identification

    The aim of the task is application of orthogonal systems functions (namely Laguerre) at the dynamic systems identification.

  22. Predictive Control of Electrical Drives

    The topic deals with design of the predictive algorithms for electrical drives control. It will be aimed especially to AC induction and PMSM machines control. During the theoretical part of the work the strategies of the computation power minimization will be defined. The developed algorithms will be then implemented on the microprocessor control system and proved in testing on real electro-mechanical systems.

  23. Robust Controllers

    Design, implementation and experiment with adaptive and adaptive optimal control systems.

  24. Segmentation and pattern recognition on images of complex scenes

    Academic dissertation deals with research and development of robust methods for segmentation and pattern recognition in non-industrial complex scenes. Tree-tops recognition from aerial images, human outlines detection for person identification, traffic assistant and others systems can be considered as examples of target implementation. Work has to include study of existing image recognition methods as standard computer vision and image processing methods, statistical and structural recognition and if need be machine learning methods too. Design, real-time implementation and robust statistical analysis of suggested method for segmentation and recognition of texture objects should be fundamental point of thesis. Thesis solution has to be integrated to Group of Computer Vision domain. This prerequisite enables participation on accessible research projects.
