Issued topics of Doctoral Study Program
Regarding dynamic development of alternative power sources mutual cooperation of such sources is frequently aksed question nowadays. The aim of this disertation thesis is to design energy system compounded of more cooperating alternative power sources focusing on optimization of energy and economic balance. For veryfying hypothesis there is suggested usage of some simulation software and then compilation of physical analog.

Thesis is focused on the possibilities of connecting small power sources to the supply network and evaluation of its influence on the reliability of eletrical power supply regarding its flukiness. The thesis results in the design of system precautions and conditions for the operation of small power sources in supply network.
Topic is focused on the analysis of current and voltage system of a TN-type distribution network supplying star-connected asymmetrical nonlinear load. This case is typical for large majority of LV distribution networks with single-phase non-linear appliances. Under certain but usual conditions, described load-type connected to the three-phase network can cause overloading of the neutral conductor, leading in a worst case to its disconnection. High impedance of the neutral conductor together with the load unbalance i.a. leads to change in phase to neutral voltages magnitude up to the phase to phase voltage. Consequently, increased and at the same time decreased phase to neutral voltages can cause temporary or permanent change in function of the connected appliances. However, up to now there is no uniquely determined and effective tool to protect customer's networks against the neutral conductor overloading and its disconnection. The aim of the thesis is on the base of the analysis to propose function principle of an appropriate protection and to realize its prototype. More information: drapela@feec.vutbr.cz.

The common method of fault calculation is based on condition that the generators and the lines are symmetrical. Real MV netwoks are not operated as transposed that means for sharp calculation there is not possible to suppose that they are symmetrical. The main aim of the work is the analysis of electrical values during different types of fault in non-symmetrical networks and evaluation of asymmetry influence on accuracy of calculation according standards.

Regarding realizations of solar systems there appears a problem with excess of thermal power during summer months period. The aim of the dissertation thesis is to compile and optimize solar system model with usage of thermal energy for cooling. Part of the thesis is also energy analysis of designed system altogether with economic point of view.
