Brno University of Technology is hosting an international evaluation of research and creative activities and PhD studies. For this purpose, 54 experts from all over the world have gathered at the BUT to assess the quality, impact and diversity of research results and artistic outputs at the individual faculties.International evaluators at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering BUT. | Autor: Václav KoníčekThe consistency of the assessment is overseen by members of the International Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB). The assessment is conducted in accordance with the principles of the CoARA (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment), of which BUT is a member. This coalition promotes diversity of research outputs, emphasises quality and impact, and uses a peer review system whereby scientific papers, research or ideas are assessed by experts in the same field as the author.BUT hosts international evaluation of research, creative activity and Ph.D. studies - welcome by BUT Rector Ladislav Janíček. | Autor: Václav KoníčekDuring the visit, which will run from 4 November to 7 November, the reviewers will meet with the University's management, faculties and departments and visit laboratories. The programme also includes interviews with staff and PhD students.The evaluation will result in reports with recommendations for each unit evaluated, which will help to further improve the quality of research and doctoral studies at BUT.
