We started in 1899 with 4 professors. Today we have 8 faculties, 3 university institutes and more than 17 thousand students. We are an internationally respected educational and research institution.

We offer studies in engineering, natural science, economics and arts. We provide high quality education and therefore companies are interested in our graduates already during their studies.

We enjoy discovering and exploring our world. We use several of our own research centres and large infrastructures to do this. We are involved in basic, applied and contract research.

Our university is located in the Czech Republic, one of the safest countries in the world. Brno is a vibrant student city (every 6th person is student). It has long industrial and technological tradition and offers excellent options especially in IT and technologies.

We fully support our students and staff to gain experience in an international environment. And we are happy to welcome students and employees from all over the world at BUT. Contacts and agreements with many international partner universities help us to do this.

BUT is involved in several university networks with aim to share knowledge, deepen cooperation in science and research and support international climate for students and our staff. Currently we are part of EULiST, CESAER and EUA.

We want to make life on our planet possible for generations to come. That's why we make sure that we contribute to this as much as possible through our own actions.

In ContriBUTe project, we support, inspire and connect our students and employees so that their great ideas don't stay on paper, but can become a working business.

A safe environment is a priority for us. We are committed to making the university safe not only in terms of the space we are in, but also in terms of our interaction with others, i.e. social safety.
