BUT has eight award winners in the Brno PhD. Talent
BUT has eight award winners in the Brno PhD. Talent
Among the 130 registered students of the first years of doctoral programs, eight from the Brno University of Technology also attracted the expert jury.
The competition projects and the applicants themselves were evaluated by top scientists, mostly from abroad.
Five selected doctoral students are engaged in research at CEITEC BUT.
Adelia Kashimbetova, Ondřej Wojewoda, Michela Sanna and Lucie Kotásková
focus on advanced materials and nanoscience.
Lucie Pejchalová
has long been interested in innovative technologies in ceramics.
The other two students, which the expert committee chose among the best, are from the Faculty of Information Technology at BUT.
Roman Andriushchenko
and
Jiří Pavela
conduct their research at the Institute of Intelligent Systems. Before the end of the year, Andriushchenko also became one of the
finalists of the IT SPY
, which is a competition focused on the best diploma theses from the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The last winner is
Iveta Lolová
, who works at the Department of Power Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication Technologies.
“An important element of this program is the opportunity to offer better conditions to talented doctoral students and thus also attract them to Brno. Thanks to this support, many talented doctoral students come from abroad and many of them remain in Brno in connection with their research, which is good for the development of the region as a place based on supporting the knowledge of economy”, Miloš Šifalda, the Director of JCMM, explains the long-term support of the program from the side of Brno City.
For the next three years, the selected students will receive financial support in the total amount of CZK 300,000.
The allowance should allow students to focus more on research
without worrying about funding for everyday matters.
Last year, nine students received awards for BUT, such as Jan Zítka, who works on a device enabling rapid diagnosis of diseases, or Miroslav Rebej, who is developing a bioreactor that cleans water with the help of algae.
We will also focus on the research of this year's award winners in detail at

.
Congratulations to all!
