On 25 – 26 January 2017, delegation from Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University (NNSTU) led by Rector Sergei M. Dmitriev and Vice-rector Mikhail V. Shiriaev visited Brno University of Technology. The main goal was to see BUT premises and discuss possibilities of cooperation. The Russian delegation of four visited new laboratories of the BUT Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) including cleanrooms. Professor Petr Štěpánek, Rector of BUT, along with representatives of BUT management and faculties welcomed Russian academicians to present various fields of research and development.
The NNSTU delegation demonstrated significant interest in cooperation in areas of advanced materials, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, information technologies and communications, chemistry, microscopy and transportation. Both universities would like to pursue Master’s and Ph.D. student exchange programmes with the possibility of visiting teacher programme.
Brno University of Technology suggested NNSTU joining the Czech language programme for Russian students organised by the South Moravian Centre for International Mobility.
