Hospice care has a crucial and sensitive contribution. Our university ranks among modern institutions that are not only focused on their internal environment but also actively engage with the community and respond to important social issues. VUT expresses this attitude through various activities, including supporting the Hospice Cake fundraiser. However, the university as an institution could not accomplish much without the people who make it up—in this case, our employees and students. I would therefore like to thank everyone who took part in the collection. Last but not least, I would also like to thank the organizer of this event for BUT, Lenka Kocová, and the whole team of volunteers who helped make BUT’s involvement possible,” said CUT Chancellor Kamil Gregorek, who was present at the start of the charitable collaboration.Cakes at BUT were sold by student and staff volunteers. | Autor: Václav KoníčekThe cakes for sale at Brno University of Technology were baked by the university canteens, and volunteers from among the students and staff offered them to donors for a financial contribution of 50 CZK at stalls near the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication, the Faculty of Business and Management, the tram No. 12 terminus at the Technology Park, and at Björnson's Park near the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The mobile unit also visited the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Information Technology, the Faculty of Architecture, and the rectorate throughout the day.Hospice Cake is a traditional fundraiser supporting palliative care, organized annually by the Diocesan Charity of Brno.
