Information for the students from abroad
Information for the students from abroad
Dear students,
In the current difficult situation related to the coronavirus epidemic, we are intensively addressing the course of study of all our students and the possibility of its continuation or proper termination. We also do not forget about the situation of BUT students residing abroad. The vast majority of these students went home, and at this moment it is not clear when and under what conditions they will be able to return to the Czech Republic and continue their studies at BUT.
Although the future development in this matter is unclear and difficult to predict, we want to assure all our foreign students that we do not forget them and are looking for solutions for their study. If there is a ban on free travel between the Czech Republic and other countries, then you may not be able to study and complete the courses on the same dates as your schoolmates who are in the Czech Republic.
First of all, we want to assure you – the students from abroad – that in any case your studies will not be terminated at the end of the 2019/2020 academic year for the failure to meet the study program conditions if the reason for this failure is the fact, that you are unable to attend the classes or examinations due to the international situation even after the resumption of operation of Czech universities.
If travel restrictions between the Czech Republic and other countries persist, we will take this situation into account and prepare a solution that – we believe – is acceptable and will allow you to continue your studies at BUT. The situation of foreign students studying at universities in the Czech Republic is also dealt with by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, so it can be assumed that the studies of these students will also be solved at this central level.
We are glad that many talented students from abroad have chosen BUT for their university studies. We greatly appreciate this and we will do everything possible to enable these students to continue their studying and to complete it properly in the current crisis. At the same time, we cannot guarantee that your studies will be conducted under the same conditions that apply to students residing in the Czech Republic, or for the students who stayed in the Czech Republic. The only reason that could initiate this situation could be the impossibility of your arrival in Brno due to the regulation of the movement of persons between the Czech Republic and other countries.
However, we can guarantee that the management of BUT and faculties will do everything possible to minimize any complications associated with your return to the Czech Republic and your start to study
; we will try to be forthcoming. We firmly believe that we will all be able to overcome this difficult situation together. I wish you all a lot of optimism and especially good health.
