The 8th annual edition of the largest ball in the Czech Republic will be traditionally held in Pavilion P at the Brno Exhibition Centre. This year, the gala evening also marks the close of VUT's 125th-anniversary celebrations. The theme, "on the edge of the unknown," aligns with BUT's strategic fields. Curiosity and the desire to explore are innate to humanity. From investigating the smallest particles to the distant galaxies, science and technology help us push the boundaries of what we know every day, opening doors to the unknown. For 125 years, BUT has been advancing this frontier, serving as a place where science and technology come together for new discoveries.
The BUT Ball will dance on the edge of the unknown. | Autor: BUT Ball “Our boundary of the unknown for the ball is SPACE. As stated in the popular book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, ‘Space is big. Really big.’ It surrounds us, existing not only in the vast distance but also on a microscopic scale. Our bodies, our cells, the atoms that make us – all are products of stardust formed billions of years ago. Science enables us to understand this connection between galaxies and molecules, or between black holes and quantum particles. Technology, in turn, opens doors to observe these phenomena on a level that would otherwise be out of reach,” explains this year’s theme Anna Kruljacová, the main organizer.

Last year, it was once again recognized at the Czech Event Association Annual Awards, earning 2nd place in the Entertainment and Show Business category (public events and festivals) and ranking in the TOP 5 in the B2P Events category – supporting public relations.
