Euroweek International Student Conference in Brandenburg | Autor: FBM BUTAs part of the international network of sixteen partner universities PRIME Networking, students of the Faculty of Business and Management BUT (FBM) participated in two student competitions - Hackathon and another one within the international student conference Euroweek. They worked on their projects in multicultural teams several months in advance. The main theme was the future of innovation and technology.
Hackathon 2023 competition took place online | Autor: FBM BUTThe Hackathon 2023 student competition, held online, allowed participants from seven countries to test their time management and teamwork skills. Competitors had to write and present the best possible academic paper to a panel of experts. They had to stick to four set topics: Sustainable Office and Modern Workplaces of the Future, Personal Health and Wellbeing, Metaverse and New Working Methods. Among the winners was also a representative of the BUT. The winning team included FBM student Ivan Kebísek. The students were mentored during the competition by teachers from all participating universities, David Schüller and Ondřej Šesták from FBM.
During Euroweek, another six students from the FBM BUT competed in Germany at the University of Brandenburg. In their project, they designed a basic framework for a manufacturing strategy to apply the concept of mass customization, researched soft and hard skills needed in an environment of technological innovation, and investigated the impact of artificial intelligence on jobs. In the "Best Paper" category, Kristína Oškerová and Matúš Štefanča performed best. They took home the first prize from the competition.
"What we took away from Euroweek 2023 was a lot of experience. Writing an academic paper and presenting it in front of experts was a big challenge, but it was worthy. We gained valuable contacts and knowledge that can be useful for our future careers", says Kristina, describing her main impressions from the week-long event.
"If you want to experience what it means to have an international project that makes sense, sign up for next year's edition and perhaps experience the beauty of Sweden - the organizing country of Euroweek 2024," adds Jakub, another member of the Czech team.
Thank you to all the students and teachers for a great representation!
