Evaluation of research, other activities and doctoral studies at BUT 2024

The evaluation of research, other creative activities and doctoral studies at Brno University of Technology (BUT) is part of the quality control system of the university's research environment. In 2022, BUT became part of the CoARA coalition and thus committed to adhering to all the principles set out in the Agreement on reforming research assessment. The basic principle of evaluating research, researchers and research organizations is primarily the recognition of the diversity of outputs, procedures and activities that maximize the quality and impact of research. This requires the evaluation to be based primarily on qualitative assessment, for which peer review evaluation is key, supported by responsible use of quantitative indicators.

The evaluation in 2024 builds on the 2023 research evaluation, which focused on evaluating individual scientific fields and comparing them with selected European scientific institutions.
