On the project

Description in English
The aim of the project is to profound knowledge about the processes of fuel atomization, combustion and NOx formation. The tools that will be emloyed are experimental investigation of the mentioned processes and computer modeling. Experiments will be performed on two types of combustors , namely can type and annular type and are aimed at providing data on atomization parameters like size spectrum of droplets, number density, spray angle, etc., data on the temperature and NOx concentration fields and thepicture of velocity field inside the combustor. One of the main goals of the project is to modify combustor for the industrial use. That is why experiments will be performed also with other fuels like diesel oil, light and heavy oil and gas at the conditions as close to the operational conditions as the experimental rig allows . Concurent with the experiments, the development works on the stochastic computer model for fuel atomization and predistion of NOx formation will be undertaken with the aim to i
