Description in EnglishThe main objective of the project is the research of technology and properties of fibre composite materials for basic structure parts of dynamic orthopaedic prosthesis, which represent the latest development in this area. The application of composite materials for prosthetic products is based on the transfer of advanced materials and technology from aircraft production. As to the aircraft, the attention is dedicated to the research of technology and basic properties of the new type of composites, fibre-metal laminates. A special laboratory for the study of problems in composite material technologies will be set up within the duration of the project. This laboratory will be used in cooperation with other university/research institutions to improve the scientific work and also the practical education of students. Additional practical knowledge of mathematical modelling and computer aided design and manufacturing of composite structure parts will be obtained. Postgraduate and graduate students will als
