On the project
Description in English
The project is aimed at the development and verification of new experimental technique providing a quantitative study of lubrication film shape in model elastohydrodynamic point contacts under quasistatic and dynamic conditions. Technique based on the combination of computer differential colorimetry and image analysis will be used for the evaluation of chromatic interferograms obtained from high-speed CCD camera. This approach overcoming limitations of conventional interferometry will be used for the study of - local fluctuations of lubricant film thickness caused by the aspertities of rubbing surfaces,- shape of squeeze lubricant films, - changes of lubricant film shape under dynamic conditions. This project extends the results described in doctoratheses "Elastohydrodynamic film thickness mapping by computer differential colorimetry" and complete the main project with the study of thin coherent lubricant films.
