On the project
Spin-wave crystals are expected to provide full control of spin waves, similarly to what photonic crystals already do for light. Typical spin-wave crystals are made by nanopatterning of the magnetic materials into pre-defined artificial lattices. Here, we present an approach where a dynamic control of spin-waves in locally written temperature gradient patterns is possible via a laser-spot assisted local sample heating. Studying the spin-wave propagation over dynamically changing temperature gradient patterns will offer an important insight into the possibilities for controlling the spin-waves.
