Galerie 209 je svobodnou platformou otevřenou výzkumu a experimentům v umění. Tvoří ji vymezený prostor v rámci Ateliéru malířství 2. Přispívá k rozšíření vzájemné komunikace mezi ateliéry fakulty i jinými školami. Umělecké vzdělávání není v současné době založeno pouze na pěstování praktických oborových dovedností a teoretických znalostí, ale nově se zaměřuje i na dovednosti, které s uměním souvisí zdánlivě nepřímo. Jedná se především o schopnost umělce prezentovat svou práci, umět ji analyzovat a čelit odborné kritice. Z této potřeby vznikla na půdě Fakulty výtvarných umění VUT v Brně (po vzoru Vysoké školy uměleckoprůmyslová v Praze) Galerie 209. Od počátku roku 2013 slouží k realizaci výstav studentů i již etablovaných výtvarných umělců. Student je zde konfrontován s praktickým výstavním chodem, počínaje instalací výstavy až po její prezentaci a zhodnocení. To probíhá prostřednictvím veřejných prezentací a diskuzí s umělci, navazujících na každou výstavu. Projekt Galerie 207 tak představuje důležitou komunikační a vzdělávací platformou. Výstupy projektu celoroční výstavní program Galerie 209 souvisí především se samotným prostorem galerie, přičemž vycházejí z logického modelu výstavní praxe, která sestává z několika fází a forem komunikace s divákem

Gallery 209 is free an open platform of research and experimentation in the arts. It consists of a defined space within the Studio painting 2 FaVU VUT Brno. Contributes to the extension of the mutual communication between the studios of the faculty as well as other schools. Art education is not currently based on the cultivation of practical professional skills and theoretical knowledge, but also focuses on the skills that the art is related to seemingly indirectly. It is all about the ability of the artists present their work, to be able to analyze it and face the professional criticism. Out of this need was established on the land of the Faculty of fine arts VUT in Brno (modeled after the high school of applied arts in Prague) 209 Gallery. Since the beginning of the year 2013 is used to implement the exhibitions of students and already established artists. The student is confronted with the practical running of the exhibition, starting with the installation in the exhibition to its presentation and evaluation. This is done through public presentations and discussions with artists, the follow-up to each exhibition. Project Gallery 207 so is an important communication and educational platform. Project outputs a year-round exhibition program Gallery 209 is mainly related to the discrete space of the Gallery, and are based on logical model of exhibition practice, which consists of several stages and forms of communication with the audience
