On the project

The project aims to develop an easy process for the synthesis and production of CaSiO3 porous structures by means of robocasting. Firstly, the synthesis of pure wollastonite through wet chemistry will be performed to obtain pure powder. Powder will be then mixed with an agglutinant to produce an injectable paste - ink for the robocasting technique in order to build up an in silico designed cylindrical structure with modified porosity, shape, size and arrangement of pores. Finally the samples will be sintered in order to consolidate the particles and enhance the mechanical properties.
