Vnitřní uspořádání struktury determinuje vlastnosti stavebních materiálů. Aby bylo možné lépe pochopit vztahy mezi fyzikálně-mechanickými vlastnostmi a složením směsi, především pak z pohledu působení druhotných surovin, je nutné sledovat strukturu materiálu a vývojové fáze jednotlivých minerálů.
