On the project
Within the proposed project a comprehensive multilevel approach will be developed to determine mechanical fracture parameters for simulation of concrete structures. Project subject is to work out an experimental–numerical procedure in order to gain “true” fracture energy and other material parameters, which will be independent on testing configuration and specimen size. Such a set of parameters together with appropriate computational model can be then utilized for modeling of real size concrete structures. The whole concept includes testing, advanced evaluation and soft computing-based identification of specimens of multiple sizes in multiple test configurations and analyses of fracture processes using multiscale modeling approaches.
KeywordsFracture energy; three-point bending test; wedge splitting test; work-of-fracture method; inverse analysis; artificial neural network; crack band model.
