On the project
Description in EnglishIn 1984 for the first time A.I. Kalina informed about a steam cycle, which works with mixture of water and ammonia. A main aim is to improve a heat transfer from gas cycle to steam cycle. Kalina cycle (KC) brings a new dimension into the design of thermal power plants, because a temperature of evaporation depends on two parameters: pressure and NH3 concentration. However, KCs have also a lot of disadventages, which would be eliminated or made smaller by further development. An aim of this project is tocontribute to the broadening of knowledge about binary cycles (BC), particularly: a) by sestematic thermodynamic analysis and synthesis and by generalization of conclusions from concrete designs of BCs, b) by searching for other working substances for BCs with not only suitable thermodynamic, but also operating and ecological properties c) by search of suitable demonstration of BCs in the thermal charts and by creation of teaching aid for students.
