Description in English
The project deals with the research and proposal of objektive and full automatic methods for eye retina screening to prevent age-related macular degeneration desease, which is one of the most common desease causes a blindness in developed countries. Within the project, a training database of retina will be created and artificial intelligence algorithms will be proposed to analyze the content of digital fundus and OCT images of asymptomatic states. The research is in cooperation with University of Science and Technology Beijing, which is able to provide an equipment, data collection and expertise in eye retinal screening using modern devices. Brno University of Technology will provide an expertise in deep learning, powerful computational capacity and an existing set of algorithms. The aim is to improve an accuracy of diagnostic methods in ophthalmology and to propose a classification model for the detection of age-related macular degeneration in an asymptomatic stage. The project will also enable collaboration with University of Science and Technology Beijing what will bring a number of new impetus for further joint research.
