On the project

The aim of this project is to investigate the interaction of the laser radiation with metal enriched yttria stabilized zirconia ceramics containing homogeneously distributed carbon at the particle surfaces. This approach should increase both thermal conductivity and laser absorbance of the powder mixture and prevent cracking. We aim to prepare sintered powder pieces by two types of lasers (ytterbium fiber laser and blue laser) and analyze their microstructure.
